IGLESIA SANTA MARIA MAYOR LA CORONADA

The Santa Maria Mayor la Coronada church is very important from an artistic point of view because it has a very important art collection from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. People from all over the world come to admire this church that begun construction in the beginning of the XVI century. We consider one of the most beautiful scultural jewels the retablo it contains with 168 images representing the life of Christ. Other art pieces like the Christ of Forgiveness by Pedro Roldan, San Pascual Bailón de Martinez Montañes are among the others considered of equal importante and beauty.

VILLA VIEJA Y TORRE DE DOÑA BLANCA

The Villa Vieja is an archaeologic place where you can visit the ruins of a mural, arab defense towers from the X century and also the ruins of the city from the XVI century. The Doña Blanca tower holds an interesting tale of a Castillian queen.

CASTILLO DE MEDINA SIDONIA

The Medina Sidonia castle sits dominating the city of Medina Sidonia in the province of Cadiz.

Because of its strategic postion between the Atlantic coast and Gibraltar, Medina Sidonia was habituated in the first historic eras. It was founded by the Phoenicians and later baptized by the Romans as Assido Caesarina where it gets its name today. The human remains found within its boundaries date back to the end of the Neolitic Period which are proven by the paintings of Las Algámitas.
